Registration is open for the 2026 Georgia Ag Forecast, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center.

The annual seminar, hosted by the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) and UGA Cooperative Extension, brings the latest research and information from CAES faculty to help farmers and agribusinesses in Georgia’s No. 1 industry.

“CAES is dedicated to delivering actionable, research-based insights that support decision making across Georgia’s agricultural industry,” said Lawton Stewart, assistant dean for UGA Extension and Agriculture and Natural Resources program leader. “We are proud to present the 2026 Georgia Ag Forecast as an opportunity for producers, agribusiness leaders and other stakeholders to prepare strategically for the year ahead.”

Agricultural insights for the season ahead

After welcoming remarks, a panel with representatives from federal and state government and the state’s producers will precede the announcement of the 2026 Farmer of the Year and remarks from the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

CAES faculty will also discuss the Georgia agricultural economic outlook and a commodity overview, including the Georgia Ag Impact Report. The interactive online platform offers interactive graphics and data visualizations tailored to agricultural stakeholders.

“Understanding the economic forces shaping agriculture is critical,” said Greg Colson, professor and head of the CAES Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. “Together, the Georgia Ag Impact Report and the 2026 Georgia Agriculture Outlook prepared by agricultural and applied economics faculty combine accessible data with expert analysis to inform expectations for Georgia agriculture in the coming year.”

Fostering community collaboration and global impact

The Georgia Ag Forecast is a CAES Signature Event, showcasing outstanding faculty contributions, fostering community and industry collaboration, and spotlighting the college’s impact on a global scale.

A $25 in-person registration fee includes lunch. Attendees can also select a $10 online registration option held via Zoom.
