Every year I teach more than 500 students in six classes or more. I believe strongly in experiential learning. My FYO class consisted of nearly all field trips. In my Insect Pest Management, we go on field trips nearly every lab period to see how different real-world businesses manage pest populations In my large class, field trips are not possible, but I bring a live insect to each class. For many of the students, it is the first time they have ever touched an insect on purpose. In our study-abroad trips, we are outside most of every day.
