Agriculture is more than just Georgia’s leading industry — it is the pulse of our state. At the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, our mission is to translate complex agricultural data into insights that inform and serve communities across the state.
Behind every Georgia-grown meal is a wealth of data. Each year, the Center for Agribusiness and Economic Development partners with UGA Cooperative Extension agents in all 159 counties to track the value of products as they leave the farm. Through the Georgia Ag Impact Report and the Georgia Farm Gate Value Report, CAES transforms raw numbers into advocacy, ensuring stakeholders understand the $100.4 billion economic engine driving our state.
So, pull up a lawn chair. From the $18 billion contributed by agricultural commodities to Georgia’s economy to the 370,400 jobs supported by the agriculture industry, enjoy a small taste of how CAES empowers the producers who help feed our world.
