Biochar Basics

Biochar is a carbon-rich material with porous structure that can be used to replace peat moss as a container substrate component for greenhouse/nursery production, providing environmental and economic benefits. This resource series provides introductory information on biochar: what biochar is, what it can do, and how to use it. This series is produced in collaboration with the Colorado State University Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.
